The KDI-572 is King's best DME Indicator. This unit is used to control and display information from a remote DME Receiver/Transmitter. The KDI-572 is most often paired with the KN-63, but may also be used with the KDM-706 or KDM-706A.

In addition to taking little panel space, the KDI-572 is very simple to operate. The main switch controls power to the entire DME system, and also controls DME channeling. The remote DME may be tuned by either of two NAV Receivers. The hold function allows the DME to remain on the current frequency, while the NAV is re-tuned to another. The KDI-572 features:

• Bright gas discharge display with automatic dimming
• Simultaneous display of distance, groundspeed and time-to-station
• TSO'd
