Product Description
As the RT-359A has gotten older, it has not aged gracefully. We no longer recommend the RT-359A for a new Transponder installation.
Unless you are replacing another RT-359A or RT-459A and don't want to perform a new installation, we recommend that you consider the Garmin GTX-327 (Mode C) or GTX-330 (Mode S) instead.
The ARC (Cessna) 300 Series RT-359A Transponder is a common unit, particularly in Cessna aircraft. The ARC RT-359A is a basic transponder, and is compatible with encoders (either an encoding altimeter or a blind encoder).
Most of our RT-359A transponders, like the one shown here, have ARC's tan faceplate. If you need a black faceplate to match the rest of your radio stack, we can change a tan faceplate to a refurbished black one for $75 extra. Our refurbished faceplates look great.
The RT-359A features:
- 125 watts transmission power
- Mode C compatibility
- TSO'd to 15,000 feet
- Reply light dimmer
- Self test function
- Provision for remote ident switch
You may also be interested in an Encoder to use with this RT-359A. When installed with an Encoder, the RT-359A will report both your position and altitude to ATC (Mode C).
