Comments: | This version of the KI-227 can be slaved to a Compass System (HSI), such as the King KCS-55A. If you do not have an HSI with bootstrap heading output, we recommend you consider the KI-227 ADF Indicator (Non-Slaved -00 version) instead. |
Product Description
The King KI-227 ADF Indicator is used as part of a KR-87 ADF System. The full system also includes a KR-87 ADF Receiver and either a KA-44 Blade ADF Antenna or a KA-44B Low-Profile ADF Antenna.
The upgraded "-01" version of the KI-227 (shown here) may be combined with a KCS-55A HSI System with bootstrap heading output. In this configuration, the compass card can be slaved to always show your current heading.
If you have a KCS-55A with bootstrap heading output, or plan to add one, the -01 version of the KI-227 is worth the additional cost. However, if you do not have a KCS-55A with bootstrap heading output, the regular -00 version of the KI-227 makes more sense. Due to the gearing needed for slaved operation, the compass card of the KI-227-01 responds very slowly to manual turning of the knob.
The KI-227 features:
- Single ADF Needle
- Glass lens
