ADF

With an ADF, you always know the relative bearing to the NDB. Tune in the station, and the needle points right to it, which is a nice boost to situational awareness. Not even a GPS has this capability.

When considering an ADF, think about the flying you do, particularly typical weather conditions and published approaches. Would the ability to fly an NDB approach at your destination give you more options? Would it open more airports as an alternate, should you need to divert elsewhere?
