The KI-209 is King's standard current production VOR/LOC/Glideslope Indicator. This indicator uses pendulum meter movements.
The KI-209 uses the same connector as the KI-208, which helps simplify things when adding Glideslope capability to your aircraft by replacing a KI-208. You still need to add the Glideslope portion of the wiring, but you may be able to reuse your existing harness.
The King KI-209's features include:
- Built-in VOR/LOC converter
- Plastic bezel and lens
- Internal lighting
The King KI-209 may be used with the following equipment:
- KX-170 series NAV/COMM
- KX-175 series NAV/COMM
- KX-155 NAV/COMM
- KX-155A NAV/COMM
- KN-53 NAV Receiver
This indicator does not contain a Glideslope Receiver, so it needs that information from another source. If you have a KX-170 series or KX-175 series NAV/COMM, then the KN-75 remote mount Glideslope Receiver is the most common solution. If you have a KX-155 or KN-53 without Glideslope, you may be able to trade your radio for one that does contain a Glideslope Receiver.
